Chapter 9

Everyone is busy in preparation and Nayanthara had full shower and sitting in her room.

Her friends warning ringing like a bell in her mind. Though she wants to escape from here but not cost of her carrying more responsibility. What if they asked them to offer fasts and All Pooja, it’s not her. She can’t do this. Dev is Purohit and she should follow him and there no one helps her like Daadi Ma stay with her.

In Mumbai

Khurana are preparing everything and ready to take Baraat… All the family members are very excited with Dev marriage…After all he is going to be Purohit, there are so many Priests and Purohit going to attend this marriage ceremony.

They did all the Pooja before stepping on horse and after it. Her mother offer fast for her son married life and she will open it after marriage complete.

In Kalbadevi

Her mother asked Geet to wear a beautiful dress and attend the marriage which she denied as she also doesn’t want to attend the marriage and brings bad luck for Nayanthara.

Her mother finally convinced her, not to think bad and everything going smoothly.

It 2 in the afternoon when Baraat comes at their door step. Her mother did Aarti and Pooja of her going to be Son In Law… They are performing the rituals and many relatives also teasing them that a part of marriage.

Dev is sitting on stage and wait for his bride, all he wants to saw her…he knows he will going to faint when he get her glimpse…he imagined her how beautiful she looks like….not only beautiful but out of this world.

He is desperately waiting for his bride.

In Nayanthara Room

Her mother and Daadi Ma goes to brings her on stage as per Priest order and it’s right time or sacrosanct period in which they are going to exchange the garlands.

They are shocked when all their cousins are outside and she locked the room. “Why she locked the room” her mother asked whose heart suddenly raises in speed

“Arre Bahu, don’t worry she is doing something” she convinced her

“Arre Behen Ji why you are taking time, Pandit Ji is asking for Nayanthara”

“Ji she is getting ready, you know na…bride is taking time”

“Ask her to come fast” that lady asked

“Ji” she replied

They goes from other side when Nayanthara didn’t open the door and finds the window open… Now they both get tensed.

“Maa Ji” she said in shocked tone

“Why you are thinking negative, My Nayanthara is inside what if she faint as she is offering fast” Daadi replied

Her mother somehow manage to enter from window, “Maa Ji you come from door, I am going to open it”

She entered in room and was shocked to saw her wedding dress placed on bed with all the jewelleries…

Blackness spread around her eyes and she fell with thug, “She can’t do it” she repeat

“Bahu Open the door” she called her so many times.

Outside

Geet is hiding herself with cousin when her father caught her, “Geet” he calls her

“Ji Bau Ji”

“Go and bring your sister”

“Me” she mummer she knows Daadi don’t like it.

“You said something”

“No Bau Ji” she said and goes from there to calls them

Geet walk to her Didi room and saw Daadi Ma standing outside, her heart skipped a beat, she take all courage and walks up to her, “Daadi Ma, Bau Ji asked for Nayanthara” she said in low voice

“Don’t I tell you don’t show your face or come in marriage, why did you come….Now I am sure something bad happen.. you only brings bad omen”

Geet eyes filled with tears and she is about to go when she stop as she is scared something happen and she can’t even jump from window…

“Now you already bring bad omen then where are you going, come with me” she said

She asked her to jump through window and go inside, Geet couldn’t understand why but she didn’t raise any questions. She does what she said.

She also tells her to open the main door.

She goes inside and saw her mother who sit on floor.

“Maa” she said in shocked voice but she doesn’t respond

She saw the entire things and her eyes fell on the letter which her mother is holding.

She read the letter.

Dear Maa,

I am so sorry but I can’t bind myself in this marriage. I think so much and my mind said I am not ready for marriage and all this responsibilities.

Maa I want to tell you before but I know you all blackmail me. Maa I can’t marry him or else I end up my life.

Please forgive your daughter and don’t search me.

Nayanthara

“Maa…Didi” Geet couldn’t speak anything more

“Geet open the door” Daadi Ma calls her from outside

She open her door and shocked as what she tells her.

“What happen” she asked after closing the door

She saw her Bahu who is sitting on floor and Nayanthara is nowhere to see on the top her wedding dress in on bed. “What happen why don’t you tell me” Geet handover the letter which Nayanthara write

She reads that and her mind starts boggling, she hold the bed to hold herself.

Geet couldn’t understand what to do, does she tell her Bau Ji and makes him understand the matter.

“She ruined us” her mother said

Daadi Ma is tongue tight, “Does I call Bau Ji…Maa” Geet suggest

“You always want that” Daadi Ma said in hatred filled voice.

“Daadi Ma” Geet said

She stand up and slapped her so hard, “Maa Ji” Her mother said in shocked tone. Geet fell near her mother and her eyes brimming fresh tear.

“Don’t I tell you she brings bad omen, see she take bad omen and My Nayanthara ran away from her house”

“Maa Ji your lovely Granddaughter ran away it’s not Geet fault, accept that your blood is bad not Geet” Her mother scream

She makes Geet stand, “We have to tell about her to Gyaneshwar Ji” she said

“No” she said

“Maa Ji Everyone is waiting for Nayanthara and from where we take her, she run away” She said in loud

“Shhhhh…. Lemme think” she said

“What you think Maa, she ran away and we don’t know where”

“I need some time” Daadi replied

They heard door banging sound, “Mata Ji brings Nayanthara, everyone is waiting for her”

“Ji I am taking her, she fainted but now she is fine… We are coming” she replied

“Lemme come”

“Bete you go or everyone comes here and she already feel suffocating and it’s not good of Everyone comes here and makes her more nervous” She said

They heard low sound of her foot step, “Why you tell a lie”

“What I can do… People outside going to laugh on us”

“Your lovely grand-daughter leave of us here, what else we can do”

She think something and saw Geet, “Geet is going to sit with Dev”

“Maa Ji we can’t betrump them, they don’t going to accept this cheating”

“Bahu, Geet is just sitting there and In mean time I will search Nayanthara and brings her back…later we will exchange her from Nayanthara” she suggested

“What if you can’t find her”

“Why you are thinking so much, I am sure I can find her” she said

“No” she denying

Geet is standing like statue, listening to them. No she can’t do what Daadi asked… She can’t cheat anyone

“Daadi Ma I can’t do this”

“Do I take your suggestions” She screams

“Maa Ji, if Gyaneshwar Ji comes to know about it, he will be angry”

“Stop it Bahu, if we didn’t do that everyone laughs on us, he will kill himself, I know my son… Do you want That Bahu,…. You Geet my son gives you life and today you can’t even do this” she said

Geet is numb with all this don’t want her father to go through the pain, she is right he gives her second Life and what she is doing.

Her mother looks at her and she is not moving. They all are quiet and listening the hussle bussle of outside, laughing and crispy sounds of people.

“Geet Bete” her mother asked

“Why you are asking her, she will do what We said, when my son take her here , she belongs to us” Daadi Ma replied

“Maa Ji”

“Go and get ready Geet” she said to her and gives her wedding dress. Geet take it and went to washroom.

She comes out from washroom with all the attire, Dev is right though smile is not on her face but she looks out if this Universe.

Daadi Ma immediately covered her with long veil. “Bahu take her outside, I am going to search her…if someone asked about me, tell them I am offering prayer and I’ll joined them when marriage complete” she said

She couldn’t understand but with her shaking hand she hold Geet… She is also feeling numb with all these event. Tears comes out from her eyes… What they are doing, if Nayanthara Didi tells her she will do anything to stop her…

Her mother makes her walk, she feels she is turning cold and shivering, “Geet I am so sorry Bete” she said like her mind is in condition to Listen to her.

They all turn to them when they heard her Payal voice which sound more melodious than anything, Her face is covered with veil but the Aura she is takes with her with her innocence or pureness everyone look back but get disappointed when they can’t see her face.

She makes her walk up to Dev who is smiling at her, he want to saw her.

“We want to saw Bhabhi face” Anwesha said

Her mother and Geet heard skipped a beat, “No Bete” she immediately respond

“In our custom, Only groom saw his Bride face after Marriage”

All priest feeling proud to know that she follows all the custom.

“She is right” The main Purohit said

Geet stand near Dev and he is feeling bliss with her nearness and he can feel the same aura around her. Her hand that is decorated with Mehendi and black thread which she wore brings smile on his face. He is so happy to have her, he can’t see her face but he can sense her…saw her hand which tell that she decorated for him.

Priest stand near them and asked, “I know she knows the rules but still I want to ask you Nayanthara you are offering fast” he asked

Geet who is listening to him nodded her head, she is not wrong either, she didn’t eat anything coz of work…

“We all are proud to have you our Purohitain” he said

Geet eyes fraught with fresh tears, her tears won’t stop as she feels like cheating everyone.

“Where is Mata Ji” Everyone aksed

“She is offering prayer till this marriage is completed, you all know Maa Ji loves Nayanthara so much and she can do anything for her Lovely Grand-daughter” she said in mean tone and gives a weak smile

“Why you are upset Behen Ji, you should be happy, your daughter is going to be married and Purohitain” she said

What she can say, “I am giving my daughter and as A Mother I am feeling pain to leave my daughter” she replied

“It’s natural” she said

“Don’t worry Behen Ji we all take care of your daughter like our” Her mother Prema replied

“I know I am lucky to have a family like you”

Maan, Annie and Yash standing near Dev who is happy…

“Now exchange the garlands” Priest said after offering the prayer

Dev immediately put the garland around her neck. She is standing there like statue.

“It’s cheating, you immediately put the garland and we didn’t even do anything” her cousin said and Everyone laughs on Dev.. like he care he wants to makes her his and that too soon.

Everyone asked Nayanthara to put the garland, she take the garland with her shaky hand…Maan and Yash pulls Dev but Dev immediately said, “No Bhai” he said

“Dev” Maan said

“Please Bhai I don’t want Nayanthara feels any problem to reach me” Dev said

Everyone smile but Geet cried and she standing with garland on her hand which open her little veil though nothing seen but Maan saw tears fell from her eyes, he saw pearl white skin and Rosey lips or little bit of cheek which is red but it doesn’t seem she did make up… It’s looks natural… Maybe Dev is right she is more beautiful.

He got a little bit glimpse for her.

Geet put the garland on Dev neck who bow down in front of her.

Everyone through flower petals on them and wished both of them.
